Sure, it's been a month, there wasn't that much left to talk about, I still cringe hearing my own voice, and my ever-more-bizarre sound effects and jokes are reaching an almost-freakish velocity. No matter! None of that could stop the sweet, sweet inevitable:

On my original DS the bottom screen always seemed just a little bit dimmer than the top. Is this true on the DS lite as well?

Cabel, this is really bugging me. I would like to know if the DS Lite has an internet browser on it. I've read that it has the same Wi-Fi cababilities as the origional DS, but does it have more?

the red backing on your psp doesn't do it justice you should have used the blue one and turned the brightness setting up to full :D

The psp wins anyday it can do so much more and it has well better sounds, graphics, features.... and GAMES!!!!!!!!

I need a DS Lite now! Anybody know how much GameStop pays for used DS Phats? I've got 100 bucks and I need 30 more to grab it! Also, could it be possible for you to make a 4th (understandable if it's too much work) video of the DS Phat and the DS Lite running the same games, preferably Brain Age, Animal Crossing, Mario & Luigi, and Advance Wars. Also understandable if you don't own more than one (if that) copy of any of those games, but it would be nice to see what kind of boost in graphics quality we'll be getting.

Cabel great video reviews, loved them. One question though, that may or may not have been addressed, is it very difficult to keep the ds lite (white) clean. Don't want it to be grimmy after a few months.

Well as fun as u make it look. I just cant see myself buying it. im gettin tired of nintendo makin sumthin then upgradin it. How about we just fugure it out all in one push? GOOD IDEA. Iv'e heard very good things about both, I do have a PS2 and a Gamecube and alot of other Nintendo Handheld products but I can't decide wich to buy. Your videos have convinced me alot but not 100%. the gameboy micro charger does NOT work with the ds or ds lite, also the ds lite will be coming out with more colours in september (jetblack is coming out in the U.S. september 2, or so i was told)Just to answer some of your questions.

yuck i just bought my nintendo ds lite and its very rubbsih compared to the original i cant believe it . nintendo has really embaresed me 2day f them all. im gonna get back my old nintendo ds which actually really does have a longer battery life. those f-ing silly liars

that guy in hilarious hes made up of lies!believe at the lightest mode the ds lite battery is only 3 and a half hours. lowest is only 6 hours how terrible.the orignal is lightest is 5 hours and on lowest its 10hours max

WOW OMG i luv the DS lite, i went to currys (a Electronic super store in UK) and asked for a demonstation and wow beautiful luv the white and the screen is outstanding. Not sure on the battery life but the person said it lasts for like 15+ hours!!! I meen this is my first "game machine"(console) apart from my laptop but its graphics are crap and it can just about play midtown madness 2!!! I have to wait til christmas for mine but ALL GOOD THINGS COME THOSE WHO WAIT!!! :D plus im going to get £100 pounds worth of games for it and the console bundle.
Anyway, about the guy who doing the review, WOAH UR SO FUNNY!!! i thought i was funny, but you, i was laughing my head off! "where the screen might KILL you!" LOL that was random but so funny. and "semi-crappy design, for thew DS"(NOT THE DS LITE, that is the best ;-) ) But that Game console is veryu good can't wait until i get mine :D!!!

No the screen doesnt scrach easilly but make sure you dont press hard on it or it will go "pixallized". But the touch screen will get the "vision" of being scrathed if you smuge it with your finger and then go over it with the stylus. the main thing i've got to say is that just dont press too hard on the top screen, but the bottom can got upto a certain extent then go "matrixed" (like ripples, around the point your poking.) But its a great system, but make sure you look after it!!! and dont pop the hinge in to much pressure or it may snap the hinge.

EVERYONE SHOULD BUY A DS LITE- BRILL, ignor the guys who says its crap- cuz it anit!!!

I know this is old, but I just noticed that the DS Lite's red light wasn't on at the end of the battery segment. It just shut off, the battery didn't run out or Cabel's DS is fruity...

1) can this game be played on this DS, if not can I make it do so?

Hi Cabel! First off your videos are both informative and funny!(Cheerios, Battery test, etc.) But defects popped up during launch which haven't been answered by any website.
First the hinge problem. Many people have reported a hinge defect where it cracks mostly on the small part of the hinge by the L button. There's no word if nintendo fixed the defective design and more crack stories continue to pop up now and then to this day.
Second, Dead pixils. This is a issue with most LCD displays but there were alot of em' during the launch period.
I know both of these problems will be fixed for free by Nintendo but it would be very irritating to send the DS to them or return it numerous times.
Third, there has been reports or the touch screen sliding up and down, this is a serious issue, but no follow up stories on it.
Fourth, I have heard that the button feel has changed, reverting back to a more retro-springy/spongy type of feel and not the "clicky" precise type present in the original DS or the GBA SP. "Snakers" in Mario kart have found it's much more difficult to mini-turbo consistantly with the newer buttons. Will it effect gameplay? I have also heard that with the new control pad it's almost impossible to press in diagnal directions is that true?(That was 2 I know but it's in the same topic line;) )
Finally, I heard that the outer case scratches like mad, even if you were to clean it with a microfiber eye-glass cloth, it still scratches it. This isn't as big of an issue as the paint rubbing off like the original, but it's still something to be concerned about.

Hi, i have got pokemon ruby and pokemon sapphire both for the GBA, but i now have a DS Lite. What i want to know is if there is a way to trade from my Ds to my GBA SP if i put one cartridge into my Ds and the other in the SP. Aren't the start/select buttons a little hard to reach when you're playing a touch-screen-steered game, like Metroid Prime: Hunters?

Does anyone have a problem hitting the diagonals on the Lite's D-pad? In Yoshi's Island DS I have a hard time holding the egg-firing cursor up while walking left or right I had no trouble doing this on the Phat. It's like I really have to press hard on the D-pad for it to register. So hard that my thumbnail turns white and my thumb cramps after about 15 minutes. It's especially noticible in most GBA games. Don't get me wrong the system is awesome, especially the screens, but the D-pad hinders gameplay for me.

Your video inspired me to actually buy a Nintendo DS Lite. Well, I'm buying it tomorrow, the Polar White color, and I just can't wait to buy the thing. Hey Cabel, just found your blog and review of the DSLite.
Will you do a review of the DSi? its coming ouy April 2 in Australia and I am trying to decide whether to buy it for my daughters birthday or for $100 less, stick with the old version (DS)..price is not the main issue - the value of the features and useability, future proofing, etc are important.
I want to look at an R4 type card equivalent, and hear AceCart has come out with one.
