Thanks to the incredibly awesome awesome-ness of Noby, friend/Panic's man in Japan, today I was extremely lucky to receive in the mail a brand new Nintendo DS Lite, fresh from Japan. Wow. (Thanks, Noby. Thoby.)

Released on March 2nd in Japan to surprising 'round-the-block lines, the Nintendo DS Lite is Nintendo's fresh revision of its quirky but extremely loveable little-handheld-that-couldn't-but-somehow-did — the touch-screen "third pillar" of innovation that's really quickly becoming more of a foundation than a support for Nintendo.

I'll quit with the words. Here are some first look technoporn/macrotastic pictures of this new system:

Also, as a bit of a test, here's a special Quicktime video first-look at the system! It mostly features my hands, and me trying to sound professional while going on about "clean lines", but it's at least a good comparison of the current Nintendo DS to the new system. Wait until you see this screen!

Cool film! I'm gonna have to let my once beloved PSP go. It just doesn't cut it anymore, and the collection of games seems quite uninspired (although I hear Loco Roco is pretty good).

I have 1 question, I MUST know the answer before I go out and buy the DS Lite. My question is, when you use wifi on the ds games it says that the wifi can only be used on the ds you used it first on. If we got a DS lite would we be able to use the wifi from the same game card you used on your old DS? I just need to know, I really want this handheld but if I have to rebuy all my games again so I can go on wifi with them it would just be a pain. No the ds charger isnt the same as the dslite charger
Yes the Gameboy Pak sticks out of the bottom a little
No it cannot play mp3 files however there is a mod chip that lets u listen to music and watch movies.
There is 5 types of DS Lite some of them dont sell in Certain countrys Blue,baby Blue,Pink,Black and Polar white
There is 4 settings of Brightness
No it does not get scratched 2 easily
Yes the ds lite screen is the same size as the Fat ds screen
I Dont no which 1 is louder i think it is the lite
Yes his is shinier than mine rite now lawl neways

hey i was wondering why there is a mic on the ds , in what situation would you use it? is there like an online mic chat or something? and um do they sell them in different colors yet? i think i saw like black and blue or something online but it could have been someones customization , id prefer if it was another color for it to be legit. im planning on buying a DS for my bday and i absolutely love the game animal crossing so yea thats deff gonna be the first game ima get for the system. the ds looks like a fine design more professional and sleek , not too gamish looking. one thing they should have added was a memory slot for music files and whatnot. overal id still get the DS because i LOVE ANIMAL CROSSING. ok well email me back

two things: DS internet= yes you can but you need software (about £30) and a connection to the internet. Also gr8 device! Really relyably and battery lasts AGES!!! perfect for long boring train or car journeys!! Or just messing around with

Thank you for making the great DS Lite review videos. Very helpful.

My son (12 yrs. old) is planning on buying a DS. (He's been saving for a lllooonnnggg time).

A friend of his told him he should buy the original instead of the Lite, because "...the screen on the Lite gets scratched up a lot easier."

Can anyone give me some feedback on that? He's currently planning on going with the original, but from the video, I think he should go with the Lite.

I love my DS Lite! i purchased it on july 23 (my b-day) and i got MKDS and NSMB with it...now i have REDS, AWDS, SFC, MPH, MKDS, and NSMB with my DSL i i love all of them..i couldn't of made this awesome purchase with the 3 vids you made...THANK YOU CABEL

just got my ds lite! picked it up yesterday at gamestop, and youre videos certainly convinced me to do so.

my only gripe is that it has this really awful light-blue dead pixel on the touch screen. awful!

but i have nothing to fear. i called nintendo up and they said theyd fix it anytime within a year for free. they were pretty nice about it too. unfortunately itll take two weeks to do that process =/

but yeah, enough of my griping. just wanna say thanks to cabel for making this! nintendo rocks.

Hey dude they are awsome vids i was wondering if you could show is if it is able to link to your pc by a usb cable becasue i herd someone say that they have a different slot where it charges and that you are capable to link to the somputer in that way...Soooo if you can do that i was also wondering if it is possible for you to use wi-fi that way ???????

The Original DS takes 4 hours to charge, theDS lite takes about 3 hours.

The Regular DS's screen look likes the backlights are OFF compared to the lite. I got my regular Teal DS package December 05 and I still love it. I've entered a contest for a Lite and Wii and I hope I win. Amazing video for homemade. Great how you let us see the screens difference in demo MK.

i'm a psp owner. i was thrilled when i first bought it. but now i realize that psp somehow made me lose my gaming sense in some way that i no longer feel the urge to fire it up to play games. i now realize that what i really want is not the graphics or capabilities of a gaming system. what i want is some pure plug-and-play gaming fun. i want metroid, i want mario and stuff. so i'm selling my psp to buy a ds lite. just wanted to share and thanks for the wonderfull reviews ;)

My brother just got a Zelda Gold Da Lite, and its awesome. It feels incredibly smooth, and everything that Cabel said is true. If you want a Portable Handheld System, buy the DS Lite, as it is the best Handheld out there!

we don't think it is reasonable to spend hundreds thousands dollars to buy a decorating watch. you can use those money to invest in other industry which will return you good profit.
watches ebayare made by the rating 1:1 according to the original watches, and you can't distinguish the original and the fake watches when you look at the surface of the watches.
